From 72ce0bfe4aa7c0bf8265da606015183ef446fa05 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Oliver Smith Date: Sun, 16 Aug 2026 12:42:14 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] gitlab: MR template: use %{first_multiline_commit_description} The template broke gitlab's ability to auto-fill MR descriptions with the commit message, which is very handy when sending lots of MRs with 1 commit. Add %{first_multiline_commit_description} to restore this behavior. With this change we assume the following will work: 1) When making 1 commit MRs, you can just keep the default message again. The comment block on top is not rendered in the merge request, so it can be left there. 2) We remind people of our AI policy whenever they open a new merge request. If 1) does not work as expected after merging this, let's just remove the template again (so we don't need to discuss this more). This is the result of the discussions that mostly took place in MR 9377.
